I know it has been a really long time since I have put up some pictures, but I finally got the pictures off of the camera! (Woohoo!) Doug and I are now safely in Midland, Texas.. after a bit of an adventure getting here. We are happy and healthy, though! I will explain the pictures as I go..
| This is probably our favorite place to eat in New Haven. This was on Doug's birthday! |
| This is the clock tower on Yale's campus. I swear some of these buildings look like they should be at Hogwarts. |
| So this picture is out of order for some reason.. haha. But this is a dog that quickly became my friend at a pool party we went to. |
| In our 12th story apartment. |
| Doug and I at the pool party for the group he was with. |
| This is New Haven, pretty eh? It sits right on the ocean. |
| Me and New Haven. |
| Doug and New Haven. These pictures were taken at East Rock Park. |
| Sunday sunset seen from East Rock Park. It was stunning in real life. |
| We went to the Central Park Zoo in NYC. Apparently some of the pictures are a tad out of order.. just hang in there with me :) |
| Me and the Sea Lions on a hot day. |
| Central Park. |
| This Polar Bear was swimming and floating back and forth the entire time we watched him. I have another picture where you can see my face better, but you can see the bear better in this one. He was so fun to watch! |
| Doug with the Polar Bear pushing off of the glass to swim. |
| Red Panda. |
| Hee hee. |
| Doug was so excited to see where the Dave Letterman show was filmed! Little did we know we would get free tickets to be in the audience a few days later. |
| The new "I'm a Mormon" sign in Times Square. It was HUGE! We were proud. |
| This was a few days later when we came to the filming of the Dave Letterman show. |
| I think this picture is supposed to be for Nick :) |
| Doug and I went to Lighthouse Point Park a couple days before the 4th of July. |
| It was gorgeous. |
| I think I'll frame this at some point. It was such a beautiful part of town. |
| Puma likes to find new places to hang out. |
| These were some of the craziest clouds I had ever seen. This is looking out from our balcony. |
| Told ya. |
| Me with the lighthouse! |
| This is in the process of one of Doug's experiments. He can explain it to you much better than I can, so I won't attempt :) |
| Doug in his lab at Yale. |
| We had the opportunity to meet up with some people from Doug's mission! It was so fun! He hadn't seen them since his mission. |
| Doug giving his presentation to the SURF group. (Student Undergraduate Research Fellowship) |
| Doug with the CRISP group after giving his presentation formally for the first time. I am so proud! |
| The four who were on the mission together! |
| There are some neat people buried in the New Haven Cemetery. Among them, Eli Whitney. |
| I liked this bench. It looked neat! |
| This was at a closing dinner for the SURF group.. Doug has just given me this yummy edible flower. |
| Arrrrr! (It was really good.) |
| This was in the hotel where Doug's ending conference was held. I had come to watch him give his presentation. We took some time to admire the beautiful landscape they made in the hotels atrium. |
| Doug and I went to see Captain America on opening day. We took these cute pictures ;) |
| This is our apartment building in New Haven. |
| Doug in the hotels atrium. |
| Doug with some of his fellow group members at the conference. |
| We decided to take one last walk around Yale's campus before we left. |
| Apparently its good luck to rub this guy's left foot. He was a President of Yale at one point, and whenever he would kick off the rowing team with his left foot they would win. |
| The first U.S. spy. He was really horrible at it and ended up getting caught. But hey, at least he was the first! |
| I had always been intrigued by this little place, it looked so pretty. So we went in. Haha. |
| Pretty! |
| In front of one of the libraries at Yale. |
| This is also a place that always caught my eye. I don't even know what this building is, but I think its pretty! |
| This is a special library where they keep older books that can't have too much light. |
| A dining hall. Hogwarts, I tell ya. |
| Doug contemplating :) |
| Doug with his Yale student card before he had to give it back. (Lame rule, huh.) |
| Good Lookin'! |
Whew! I hope you all enjoyed seeing a little glimpse of our time in New Haven. Believe it or not there are more pictures to come from when we went to Boston, and on our way to Midland! As of now we are doing really well. Doug is working hard and I couldn't be more proud to be his wife. We love and miss all of our family and friends!
