Wikipedia needs everyone's help.

Support Wikipedia

Click here to help Wikipedia reach their goal of fund raising for this year. They are truly a non- profit organization that mean a lot to us. Any help in donation is a big help. I (Doug) along with Wikipedia's founder Jimmy Wales share similar goals in allowing free and accurate knowledge to spread across the globe. All of us have benefited in some way by Wikipedia and we can continue to keep it a free open knowledge encyclopedia by donating a small amount. I believe there are only two true ways to assist the world in its vast number of problems, and that is through educating people about the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and by teaching them about histories, sciences, philosophies, humanities, and all other facets of knowledge. This includes us being taught and learning these things. The rest is left up to our will.

I Cannot Wait!

Chronicles Of Narnia 3

The Chronicles of Narnia book series by C.S. Lewis is one of my favorite collections of all time. I love those books. And it just so happens that THIS book was one of my favorites! Since the movie-makers have been jumping around from book to book a bit, I was more than excited when I saw this one was coming out. I hope they keep close to the book!

...One more week! We're taking my little sister for her birthday!

A Month of Gratitude

This is just my own opinion, but I am so happy to wave "goodbye" to Halloween and welcome in the holiday season. This year Doug and I have decided to do something called "The 25 Days of Gratitude." Every day when we are doing our family scripture study, we take just a minute to tell each other at least one thing we are grateful for that day. Yeah, its kind of a small thing, but just having the time to stop and think about how blessed we really are changes everything. It has only been a few days, but it has been so fun! (Literally.. yesterday Doug said "I am grateful that we can go do spontaneous things.. let's go!" He then pulled me out the door and we went and read scriptures by the temple.) Anyways, I just thought I would share our little new-found tradition. In December, it will be our second year doing the 25 days of Christ!

I love this time of year!

"Gratitude is a Spirit‑filled principle. It opens our minds to a universe permeated with the richness of a living God. Through it, we become spiritually aware of the wonder of the smallest things, which gladden our hearts with their messages of God's love. This grateful awareness heightens our sensitivity to divine direction. When we communicate gratitude, we can be filled with the Spirit and connected to those around us and the Lord. Gratitude inspires happiness and carries divine influence."
Bonnie D. Parkin, "Gratitude: A Path to Happiness," Ensign, May 2007

We sure do love all of our family and friends! Smile and go do something spontaneous!

A Great Quote

"A person can never be a good judge without the gospel of Jesus Christ as a reference. The gospel has a long and successful record of guiding people to happiness. Some of the world's ideas leave mankind adrift to try to define their own standards. Because of this, we hear phrases like 'a new morality.' This phrase is deceptive! The standards of morality are eternal and have not changed; neither should we try to discover a new interpretation of them."

Gregory A. Schwitzer, "Developing Good Judgment and Not Judging Others," Ensign, May 2010
